Cleveland H. Dodge established the Foundation in 1917 to continue the Dodge family legacy of service and philanthropy. He sought to promote the well-being of all people by supporting educational, community, and cultural institutions.

Their mission is to equip under-resourced youth and their communities with the services and skills to promote life-long achievement and overcome social inequities. Through its grantmaking, the Foundation works with community-based organizations to deliver transformative programs.
